National Cement Company of California selected for award negotiation by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) as part of the Industrial Demonstrations Program

Video: Project Overview

National Cement Company of California is proud and honored to announce that it has been selected by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) to begin award negotiation for up to $500 million in Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funding as part of the Industrial Demonstrations Program (IDP).

This funding opportunity complements National Cement’s commitment to an ambitious net-zero climate plan.

With the OCED funding for this project, we will directly tackle the CO2 issue in three specific ways: first, increase new alternate low carbon biomass sources of fuel, next, develop next-generation greener low CO2 cements, and finally, pursue innovation in the fast-evolving field of carbon capture and storage of CO2 here in Kern County.

"National Cement of California is extremely excited and very grateful for this opportunity from DOE OCED. It couldn’t have been possible without the contribution of the great employees we have at NCC, the communities we are involved with, and the partnerships that we have built."
— STEVE WISE / PRESIDENT, NATIONAL CEMENT COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA
